Job Description To manage and maintain the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and database at Sceintiific Services.

To train and support staff.

Key Performance Areas Administrate database (SQL database).

Provide LIMS training and help desk support to laboratory personnel and other stakeholders.

Manage and maintain Laboratory information Management Systems (LIMS) and other software support systems.

Develop new applications, user interfaces, reporting tools and instruments interfaces and integrate and maintain quality system within (LIMS).

Develop applications to ensure date transfer from Process Information (PI), Supervisory Control and Date Administration (SCADA) and other date systems to users.

Perform administrative tasks.

Skills, Experience & Education Required:  Bachelors of Science (Microbiology, Chemistry or Computer Science), with specialization in LIMS Management & Administration.

Three (3) years in either microbiology, chemistry or computer science and background in laboratory operations and regulatory compliance requirements.

Code B/BE Driver’s License.

General Required knowledge:  Knowledge of ISO 17025, National International Water quality guidelines, Laboratory safety, analytical methods.  Extensive analytical laboratory experience, basic statistical calculations, LIMS Basic; LIMS Administration.  Instrument interfacing; programming (visual basics; LIMS Basic, SQL); Database administration; Web design and development; MS Office (Word; Excel; Power Point; Access).

Required skills:  Extensive analytical laboratory experience; extensive use of LIMS; LIMS Administrator’s course; database managment and  administration; Web design and development; MS Office (Word, Exel, Power Point, Access); Programming in LIMS basic +visual basic & SQL; Teaching and presentation skills. Sense for business process analysis and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.

Pre-appointment Training as an added advantage:  Method validation training, basic water treatment, supervisory training.  Chemistry or Microbiology in water laboratory.
