POSITION: MECHANICAL LIFTING EQUIPMENT (MLE) CAT 4 OPERATOR × 2

LOCATION: PORT OF LÜDERITZ
JOB GRADE: 14
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To transport, load/ offload cargo within port areas. The position reports directly to the Equipment Coordinator.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Conduct daily safety checks on haulage and mechanical lifting equipment.
• Operate cargo handling and operating equipment.
• Assist during routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure safe operations by adherence to OHSE rules and legislation.
• Collect and provide data for capturing and planning purposes.
• Perform ad-hoc duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
• Code 10 (C1) driver’s license.
• Two (2) years relevant experience in operating heavy-duty vehicles.
• Experience in 3t, 4t, 16t forklifts will be an added advantage.
• Understanding the IMO code concerning the handling of hazardous cargo.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
• Medically fit.
• Safety, health, environment, and quality conscious.
