Business Process Engineer – Meat Corporation of Namibia Ltd

Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will work closely with management teams, to analyse, evaluate and recommend business process improvements for the Meatco Abattoir and processing facility.

 

Key Performance Areas

  • Evaluate Abattoir & Factory building, production lines, and equipment and provide cost-efficient upgrade recommendations.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency/losses within all production departments at the abattoir.
  • Evaluate optimum manpower needs for the abattoir in all departments.
  • Evaluate business processes, KPI’s, measurement tools, and analytics.
  • Make recommendations and changes as required to increase effectiveness and efficiency at operations.
  • Design and implement an efficiency management model and daily dashboard.
  • Provide detailed cost analyses per department within the abattoir.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of current production data models and consolidate data into a management program/dashboard.
  • Set a series of daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s per department for production managers and supervisors.
  • Evaluate the current maintenance plan, identify areas of skills needs within the technical department, and provide clear management direction within the department.
  • Evaluate the involvement of external contractors, their work performance, and efficiency, and introduce cost-cutting measures for all contractors.
  • Introduce and roll out a management program for the two production managers responsible for deboning and slaughter floor.
  • Benchmark the operations production and efficiency model to be introduced with leading Namibian manufacturing businesses.

Competency and Skill Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Engineering
  • Additional post graduate qualification in Management or Finance
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in business process engineering, continuous improvement projects and/or operational re-design within the production/manufacturing industry.
  • Have strong analytical skills and must be able to present financial information.
