Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the accuracy, timeous completion, submission, record and safe keeping of records, registers and returns for the Old Mutual Namibia (OMNAM) group of companies;
  • Performs various administrative company secretarial duties/task for the OMNAM group of companies, inclusive of the compilation and distribution of Board sub-Committee Agenda packs and/or the taking and distribution of minutes;
  • Manages and responds to company secretarial related queries relating to OMNAM group of companies, inclusive of submissions and returns to regulators and/or other supervisory bodies;
  • Provide administrative support for the arrangement and organization of Board or Sub-Committee meetings, related functions, venue booking, travel arrangements and the like if and when required;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of documentation and information; and
  • Provides general administrative support to the Central Finance as it relates to the company secretarial function

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Namibian Citizenship;
  • A Business or Law Diploma/Degree
  • 3 years’ experience in the legal profession and/or company secretarial function
  • Company Law and Company Secretarial experience shall be an added advantage;
  • Flawless command of the English language;

Purpose of Position

The incumbent is responsible for to plan, organise, lead and manage all activities around stock returns and document control.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 certificate with 2-3 years working experience in warehousing.
  • Knowledge in warehousing, distribution  and stock control.
  • SAP knowledge will be an added advantage.

Key accountabilities:

  • Responsible for returns planning and to determine the sequence of off-loading for returned trucks;
  • Ensure that sufficient empty off-loading bays are available for the day’s expected returns in the Empties Yard;
  • Receive crates, pallets and ullages and ensure that the stock is Off-loaded, sorted, moved into delivery cages and the crates and pallets returned are counted;

Peace Corps, Namibia is seeking individuals to support requirements of language and cross-culture planning, presentations, and community integration during Pre-Service Training (PST) for an estimated contract period 5 months beginning on June 04, 2023 and ending December 08, 2023 for a total of an estimated 90 working days.

Peace Corps, Namibia is a U.S. Government Agency assisting Namibia in meeting its need for a trained and qualified work force in the education, community enterprise development, and health fields.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the Language and Cross-Cultural Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Language Instruction Assess general language proficiency of Invitees, Trainees, Volunteers. Assesses ability to effectively use language to perform specific Volunteer tasks. Shares ongoing assessment results with Trainees, Volunteers, and staff.
  • Language Training Administration Works alongside the Language and Cross-Cultural Coordinator to motivate Volunteers with respect to on-going language learning
  • Site and Volunteer Management Assess language learning needs and assess readiness to perform linguistically in his/her proposed Volunteer assignment.

Other

  • Acts as backup to the Language and Cross Cultural Facilitator (LCC) and other staff, as required
  • Participate in required training.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of grade 12 certificate with 3 years or more informal/formal teaching experience/ Diploma in a field related to Teaching, Adult Education/Training. University degree preferred.

Prior Work Experience:

  • At least three years of progressively responsible experience in relevant fields (teaching, adult education/training, interpretation/translation, etc.) is required.
  • Strong experience (preferably three years or more) working closely with or supporting international students, volunteers, interns or others from a different culture, or significant experience working and living in a multicultural environment. Experience as a trainer and/or in the development of training programs is preferred.
  • Experience in grassroots community development is highly desired.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English required.
  • Proficiency in one of more of Namibia’s local languages is desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Language teaching and curriculum development, delivery, and assessment.
  • Experience with an American organization and/or culture desirable. Must also have a good knowledge of or interest in American culture and issues of cross-cultural differences.
  • In depth knowledge of rural Namibia and the Namibian education system are a plus.
  • Good computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) are required.

Other

  • Enthusiasm and aptitude to learn new IT platforms (Learning Space) for creating virtual language training modules.
  • Counseling and networking skills are highly desirable.
  • Good conflict resolution skills in a cross-cultural setting are desirable.
  • A sound knowledge of community development issues and problems is necessary in order to develop appropriate language activities.
