MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To plan and coordinate activities concerned with the design, construction, modification and maintenance of all mechanical equipment to ensure maximum equipment availability at optimum cost to achieve production targets including adherence to SSHER requirements.

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Participate in the maintenance, inspection and repair of equipment
  • Coordinate the receipt of new equipment.
  • Produce contingency plans and remedial actions to minimize operational and technical risks.
  • Ensure maintenance is carried out in compliance to Company policies and procedures and work instructions.
  • Determine maintenance project schedules and track progress.
  • Identify downtime root causes and implement preventative maintenance programs to eliminate downtime causes.
  • Identify and determine areas where deviations from standard RCM practices are acceptable. Investigate and resolve user problems, initiate system corrections, monitor and expedite system changes-in-progress and test corrections and enhancement.
  • Analyse RCM data/reports, investigate causes of delays and deviation and implement action to optimise process performance and efficiency targets.
  • Identify production losses and abnormal high maintenance cost assets. Adhere to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
  • Implement approved reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, investigate and implement enhancements to the reliability centered maintenance and reliability centered spares system.
  • Provide input in preparation of the section’s annual operational budget.

Requirements and experience:

  • BTech / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 3 years’ of Engineering experience.
  • Experience in a Mining environment will be a distinct advantage.
  • Exposure in asset management and repairs of open pit heavy duty equipment such as Haul Truck, Shovel, Wheel Loader, Drill etc.
  • Proven experience in multi-disciplinary continuous improvement projects and exposure to research and development work into new / improved project.
  • Exposure in equipment life extension and improvement of equipment reliability.
  • Good track record of contract & contractor coordination.
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To provide technical training services to end-user Departments by conducting training needs analysis, devising technical training programmes, identifying and sourcing relevant training and development programmes for technical Apprentices, Artisan Assistants, Artisans, Technicians and Maintenance Team Leaders in line with organizational requirements. Preparing material for all in-house training and executing training according to a training plan. Evaluating results of training programs and determining overall effectiveness of programs and making improvements. Key Performance Areas:

  • Collaborate with End User Departments to identify training needs and develop training programs for maintenance employees.
  • Design and create training material, including presentations, manuals, handouts etc.
  • Conduct technical training for maintenance employees on machines, systems or disciplines following the appropriate lesson plans and utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
  • Conduct technical competency assessments and collaborate with OEM to ensure that employees have the required skills and knowledge to perform to required standards.
  • Develop skills matrix for maintenance employees, monitor, and advice on technical training needs.
  • Co-ordinate external trade related tests.
  • Assist in the recruitment of technical Apprentices.
  • Draft policies and procedures in respect of technical training.
  • Plan and maintain a budget and resources in respect of technical training.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare monthly training reports for management.

Requirements and experience:

  • Grade 12, with a Recognised Trade Diploma/ Certificate.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ post trade engineering maintenance technical experience in the Mining Industry.
  • Assessor and Moderator certificates.
  • Train-the-Trainer Certification.
  • Registered with NTA as Assessor and Moderator.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer.
  • Experience in designing and delivering technical training programmes
  • Experience in conducting Safety training such as, Isolation, Working at Heights, Confined Space and Permit to Work.
  • Knowledge of OEM Equipment Management Systems.
  • Broad knowledge across a variety of engineering disciplines
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License. (Code CE License added advantage.)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Job Description

IN YOUR ROLE AS PLANT HAND, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

  • Performs pre-start checks for abnormalities on equipment and assist Process Operator by physically checking whether plant is functioning after starting and stopping of treatment plants
  • Keeps Process Operator informed on physical condition of the operational treatment plant, through continuous running inspections of the various pieces of equipment for anomalies
  • Executes cleaning and maintenance functions in the plant as instructed by the MPS, Process Controller or the Process Operator
  • Implements appropriate action to the occurrence of critical parameter anomalies in the treatment plant and provide feedback on the status of the situation as directed by supervisor
  • Conducts scheduled efficiency tests with the Process Operator, as directed by Process Controller, on the various sections of the plant, and records the relevant equipment measurements as required by test procedures
  • Inspects, replaces and adding of plant consumables to ensure effective operation of the treatment plant
  • Removes waste where necessary to ensure that treatment plant and all of its equipment is kept clean

Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Boilermaker . The primary role of this position is to effect boilermaking (maintenance and new equipment) on board the vessel.

The incumbent will be required to spend 28 days at sea followed by 28 days ashore and will be required to undertake the following activities:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on all steel installations.
  • Executes work order requests and provides feedback
  • Monitors consumables availability in conjunction with the stores department by maintaining stock levels and forwarding requests to the Supervisor
  • Assists with removal and installation of structures, spares and equipment (rigging)
  • Manufactures or modify equipment as directed by Supervisor
  • Fabricates parts or structure from technical drawings or samples
  • Removal of redundant structures

Qualifications

  • Conduct high wall inspections with Geo technical and spearhead rectifications of all concerns raised.
  • Analyze mining processes results and prepare relevant reports.
  • Use Fleet Management applications, production reports and data analysis to proactively monitor operational performance and identify mitigating / improvement actions.
  • Provide timely guidance to the department on safe mine planning and operational issues, including mining perimeter layout and activities sequencing.
  • Continuously improve performance by implementing best practice standards to ensure safety and quality are maintained in the work areas covered at all times.

Requirements and experience:

  • BSc / B. Tech degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in open pit mining environment.
  • Open Pit Blasting Certificate will be an advantage.
  • Registration with Engineering Council of Namibia will be an advantage.
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
