Key performance areas (KPAs):

  • To support the Pharmacist and Pharmacist’s Assistant in the management of Warehouses.
  • Ensure that the physical stock in the warehouse is balanced as well as reflecting the stock on Syspro, and to pack the stock on the warehouses according to FIFO/FEFO.
  • Ensure that ordered stock is issued according to the picking slip and all stock issued are in the correct quantities, correct expiring date and appropriate quality.
  • Liaise with receiving and Pharmacist’s Assistant and Pharmacist to ensure that the correct stock has been received, and delivered into the correct warehouse, as well as appropriately stored on the correct shelves
  • Supervise the Assistant Warehouse Manager and Workhands and assign task to them in their day-today handling of stock.
  • Support the Pharmacist’ Assistant and Pharmacists in ensuring that the correct volume of stock within the warehouse and ensure that the handling of Pharmaceuticals and Clinical Supplies are handled according to SOP.
  • Ensure that stock out, damaged, expiring stock and fast items moving inventories are reported to the Pharmacist as well as all discrepancies within picking slip documented.
  • Maintain an excellent working environment based on teamwork, integrity, handwork and high level of commitment.
  • Assist in the implementation of Warehouses’ SOP and ensure that they are adhered to during all performing of all inventory management and warehousing activities.
  • Ensuring the proper handling of stock and preventing the loss of stock due to theft, damage, and expiry.

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

  • A minimum university Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transport warehouse, Business Administration or related field NQF Level 6 and Grade 12 with 23 points.

Additional Requirement:

  • A minimum of one year working experience with substantive experience in Pharmaceutical and Clinical Supply e.g., procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics will be an added advantage.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To manage the overall operations of the store by applying sound business principles and service excellence to customers and consumers in order to ensure profitability of the store.

  • Oversee and manage all administrative duties of the store to ensure that they are completed within time limits and within company procedures.
  • Oversee the scheduling and planning of staff working hours for the week and approve weekly schedules.
  • Control store wages through appropriately monitoring and approving overtime and hours worked by staff.
  • Run an inspection on the floor – Mule train.
  • Perform day end functions after cashiers are done.
  • Manage the housekeeping of the store and adherence to Food safety audit standards.
  • Enforce compliance of the Health & Safety policy to all staff members and internal visitors.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections on a daily basis and report monthly to Regional Manager and Support Office.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration / Management or Retail Management, or equivalent and at least 5 years retail managerial experience
  • A recognized Grade 12 Certificate and a minimum of 8 years’ retail experience of which 5 must be at management level.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Check and control the receiving, storing and issuing tasks of storage personnel to ensure compliance with company rules and guidelines for storing and issuing fresh and frozen fish products.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Receive the finished products from the factory.
  • Check that all finished products are packed according to specifications, e.g., temperature, product codes, production and “best before” dates, labels etc.
  • Check that products are stored in an orderly fashion, in a way to optimise storing space, adhere to the “First in-First out” principle.
  • Check that trucks and containers are loaded accurately and to optimal capacity and as quickly as possible (20 ft. in 11/2 hours and 40 ft. in 2-3 hours) and are sealed as soon as loading is completed.
  • Check that sub-ordinates work productively and that overtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Assist the Supervisor: Cold Storage with monthly stock-counts and daily stock control.
  • Check that certain contract products are packed on designated pallets.

Peace Corps, Namibia is seeking individuals to perform requirements of language and cross-culture teaching during Pre-Service Training (PST) for an estimated contract period 5 months beginning on June 04, 2023 and ending December 08, 2023 for a total of an estimated 90 working days.

Peace Corps, Namibia is a U.S. Government Agency assisting Namibia in meeting its need for a trained and qualified work force in the education, community enterprise development, and health fields.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  • Ensures careful and proper transportation of all training supplies and equipment;
  • Performs daily checks of vehicles and maintains them in clean and serviceable conditions;
  • Coordinates regular servicing and repairs of vehicles with the General Service Manager;
  • Maintains accurate daily mileage log books;
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of the vehicle and safety of passengers;
  • Reviews training supplies and equipment list with Training Manager and Coordinators and ensures procurement and delivery of all training supplies;
  • Works with the Training Manager and Coordinators in the organization of Community Based Training (CBT) homestay visits during CBT;
  • Arranges all “Swearing-in” equipment, flags, etc.;
  • Works with the Training Manager, Coordinators and liaises with the General Services Manager to develop weekly transport schedules for the transportation of guest speakers, Volunteers and Peace Corps staff;
  • Manages the training storeroom, maintains inventory lists and oversees distribution of training supplies and stationery;
  • Organizes and coordinates refreshments during training;
  • Assist driving staff, trainees and Volunteers to/from training sites and other authorized destinations.
  • Assist in coordinates process of food voucher distribution to host families

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a logistics officer or related field
  • Fluent in English and speaking a Namibian local language will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to think creatively and work independently
  • General knowledge of logistics
  • Valid drivers license and excellent driving record

IN YOUR ROLE AS AN ASSISTANT MATERIALS CONTROLLER YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

Undertakes responsibility for the following Logistical Functions at Lüderitz Warehouse:

  • Secures, controls, makes available and records inventory movements and those materials which require management and control.
  • Manages and maintains physical warehousing principals in terms of ergonomics, lay-out, Health and Safety and preservation and legislative requirements.
  • Adheres to the port operating practices and regulations.
  • Manages the process of moving spares to different locations locally and across the borders.
  • Ensures items are stored in accordance with best practices, ergonomics and in accordance with safety principles and systems references.
  • Manages inventory counts and investigates inventory shortages.
  • Compiles inventories in storage for further action.
  • Assists with the disposal of obsolete items such as stock, non-stock, equipment and scrap steel via disposal, auctions and/or donations.
  • Reviews and acts on audit findings for the Lüderitz Warehouse with formal feedback to the Materials Controller.
  • Drafts and recommends new practices, procedures and principles to the Materials Controller and where applicable to the warehouse and its management teams to approve implementation.
  • Co-operates with colleagues and with the Company appointed Agent in the Port to facilitate the achievement of Company objectives.
  • Reviews and recommends updates and changes of related policies, procedures and practices.
  • Implements safekeeping and control procedures.
  • Adheres to and promotes Company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, security and environmental policies.
  • Cooperates with the tug service provider to facilitate the achievement of Company objectives.

Purpose of Position

The incumbent is responsible for the operational management and supervision of the Ambient Warehouse and Returns Department. This includes stock on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and to implement, manage and improve all processes and procedures to facilitate the effective and efficient operations within these departments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1-3 year Diploma/1-4 year Certificate in Transport & Logistics Management;
  •  3-5 years’  experience in operations MS Office (Excel), SAP, ERP and Fleet control systems will be an added advantage;
  • MS Office, SAP, knowledge in logistics;
  • Knowledge of cold chain in FMCG environment will be an advantage.

Key accountabilities:

  • Oversee entire returns process with the view of ensuring that prescribed processes are followed.
  • Implement strategy directives to drive cost reduction by means of periodical process reviews and re-engineering
  • Manage returns documents with discrepancies to and liaise with Debriefer to ensure that these are resolved timeously and that corrective/preventative measures are put in place
  • Reconcile returns received versus returns processed
  • Supervise stock rotation according to FIFO to prevent stocks ageing
  • Perform periodical stock counts and spot checks.
  • Identify system and stock related problems and engage with colleagues and service providers to address these
  • Liaise and communicate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure all orders are fulfilled and executed.
