Clerk: Logistics and STPT (staff transport planning and tracking) – Meat Corporation of Namibia Ltd

Purpose of the Job

The Clerk: Logistics and STPT (staff transport planning and tracking) will ensure that the correct paperwork is completed for all shipments and their exporters. The Export Documentation Clerk is also responsible to assist with any logistics related activities required to expedite Meatco product.

 

Key Performance Areas

  • Assist with expediting Veterinary, Customs, Meat Board, Logistics, and Bank documentation required for completion of tasks.
  • Accurately complete export documentation and present to the supervisor for control and signoff.
  • Receive Racon and manually process it on EMIDEX.
  • Collect information from confirmed trucks.
  • Generate a load confirmation MTCO (Master Transport Control Order) for each load to track and manage shipments effectively.
  • Communicate MTCOs with dispatch and transporters to coordinate logistics and transportation arrangements.
  • Create clearing and forwarding documents for each load and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Receive invoices from Agro-processing clients, incorporate finance-provided information, and add it to the export invoice.
  • Take all processed documents for each load to the bank for attestation as required by customs regulations.
  • Create a load confirmation MTCO for each load, ensuring accuracy in inspection points and offloading locations.
  • Share documentation with TBCS, NMIE, and other clients.
  • Provide weekly report updates and weekly freight tracking.

Competency and Skill Requirements

  • A Diploma in Logistics and supply chain or equivalent qualification. A relevant Degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least Two (2) years’ working experience in logistics environment (export documentation and transport) in the Meat Industry.
  • Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act, 2015 (Act 15 of 2015), Meat Corporation Act, 2001 (Act 1 of 2001) and the Import and Export Control Act, 1994 (Act 30 of 1994)
  • Computer literate (MS-Office, Word and Excel).
