Introduction
To ensure proper housekeeping in the plant and to assist with operational duties when requested.
Job description
General Work Duties
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and orderly.
- Clean area bunds.
- Clean material spillage under conveyors and tunnels.
- Remove weeds on the premises.
- Assist operations with relevant shut jobs or duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Perform routine tasks as and when required.
Safety, Health and Environment
- Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures
- Comply with the B2Gold Golden Rules, Code of Conduct and all Policies.
- Actively participate in safety and toolbox meetings, and conduct a monthly safety inspection of the work area based on the schedule set by Management.
- Maintain a safe working environment, and keep the assigned work area clean and tidy.
- Report all unsafe acts and conditions, injuries, accidents, equipment damage and near-miss incidents to the supervisor promptly.
- Wear and maintain the PPE appropriate to the task and area while on duty.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum Grade 10 (NQF 2).
- Experience in a mining environment will be an advantage.
- Valid Code B driver’s license.
- Women and persons from marginalised communities are encouraged to apply.
