1. Main Functions
As an Artisan in our automotive services department, your primary responsibilities will include:

Performing Services and Repairs: Conduct both minor and major repairs on vehicles, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to safety standards.

Diagnosing Vehicle Issues: Utilize diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults, providing accurate assessments and solutions.

Order and Fit Correct Parts: Ensure the correct parts are ordered and fitted for repairs, maintaining optimal vehicle performance.

Updating Team Foreman: Continuously update the team foreman on vehicle progress, ensuring seamless communication and workflow.

Meeting Production Targets: Work efficiently to meet production targets, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Standby Duties: Participate in after-hours standby duties to provide assistance and emergency services when necessary.

Training Trainees: Mentor and train trainees, sharing expertise and best practices in automotive mechanics.

Fault Finding: Perform thorough fault-finding and troubleshooting to resolve complex mechanical issues.
2. Key Performance Areas

Job Card Management: Write and report accurately on job cards, documenting all repairs, services, and diagnostics performed.

Work-in-Progress Follow-up: Diligently follow up on work-in-progress, ensuring timely updates and completion.

3. Experience

Educational Qualification: Grade 12 certificate with a qualification in Automotive Mechanics.

Driver’s License: Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in motor mechanics, showcasing expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair.

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of both the technical and administrative aspects of the motor and service industry.

Computer Literacy: Adequate computer skills, particularly proficiency in the MS Office package.

Specialized Experience: Diagnostic or Auto Electrical experience is considered an advantage, enhancing problem-solving capabilities.
