Introduction
To operate/undergo training to operate equipment that are required for mining & production purposes.
Job description
- Operate equipment to expected standards to minimise downtimes.
- Record production tally data on the provided production log sheet daily.
- Participate in the risk assessment process on tasks that needs to be performed.
- Perform routine machine prestart checks as well as equipment logbooks.
- Have basic knowledge of equipment mechanical functionality to be able to determine any deviations, malfunctions and failures (to assist in preventative maintenance).
- Record and report identified faults to ensure preventative maintenance is done.
- Practise good housekeeping on the equipment.
- Maintain daily checklists and logbooks on equipment.
- Undertake other operational duties as required by the Mining Supervisor.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Certified to operate one type of equipment
- Valid Code B driver’s license
