Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Setting of strategic direction of the overall business including all operational aspects of the Short Term Business;
  • Development and Implementation of the long-term business plan;
  • Management of the profitability of the business (bottom line responsibility);
  • Management of external and key stakeholder relationships including industry bodies;
  • Development of growth strategies and aggressive performance targets that result in increased sales;
  • Continuous development of strategies to improve business efficiencies; and
  • People leadership within the business units / department under MD supervision.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Namibian citizenship;
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree (NQF 7;
  • Relevant Post Graduate qualification preferred;
  • Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in the short-term insurance industry with at least 5 years in senior management /executive management;
  • Strong change management and strategic project management will be an added advantage;
  • Strategic relationship management and development experience;
  • Experience in people management, leading and directing multiple team members in a busy task-oriented environment;
  • Pro-activeness and strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional Communication skills;
  • Strong written and presentation skills;
  • Solid leadership skills – team builder and team motivator; and
  • Strong in strategic thinking and execution
