Vacancy – Senior Software Engineer

Primary purpose of position
To ne the lead expert within NamPost on the direction, guidance, development, optimisation and analysis, and administration of NamPost software developments environments with an emphasis on integrated database and applications architecture and the benefits to be gained from systems integration and cross-utilisation (this involves a range of development, refinement and adaptation for database developments). To enable, support and leverage the applications and functional IT effectiveness of business, and optimise the functionalities and utility of NamPost business platforms that are hosted on databases, relational and nonrelational database architectures. This includes the creation of MIS and business intelligence for users at various business units, based on a balance of internal and external technical database software development needs.

Main Responsibilities
1. Ensure Coordination between Development and Architecture
2. Conduct and implement Annual Technical Planned Reviews
3. Develop UI & UX Functional Solutions & Systems Optimisation
4. Coordinate New Systems and Applications Development and Implementation.
5. Human Resources Supervision/Management

Educational and experience requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field.
2. 5 years of hands-on experience with full stack software development.

Skills and Knowledge requirements
1. Proficiency in multiple programming languages ranging from frontend, backend and database technologies
2. Strong understanding of SDLC and best practices
3. Experience with system design, architecture and scalability
4. Database Management knowledge (SQL, NoSQL)
5. Version control System knowledge (Git)
6. Ability to write clean, efficient and maintainable code
7. Experience with testing frameworks and debugging tools
8. Database related computer skills
9. Knowledge of banking technology and/or ERP database development.
