Company Description
Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Storeperson: Warehouse. The successful incumbent will co-ordinate the receipt, storage and issuing of materials at Lüderitz Debmarine Namibia store.
Job Description
THE STOREPERSON: WAREHOUSE AT DEBMARINE NAMIBIA:
- Receives materials, checks against documentation, and completes required transactions on the computer system (including goods from Port Nolloth, other vessels, capital store, and repairs).
- Receives all return-to-stock items and reconciles them against original issues.
- Determines and maintains appropriate bin locations.
- Preserves, vacuum packs, seals, bags, and labels items and bins in correct bin locations.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and safe working area as per NOSA sea-safe / ISO 14001 standards.
- Maintains storage items, adds to non-stock catalogue, marks with non-stock SAP number, and updates bin location.
- Runs all stock transport orders daily, determines which requirements can be picked, and sends them to the vessel.
- Picks and packs items in transit to the vessel, ensuring critical and insurance spares obtain preference.
- Weighs and packs all inventory as required.
- Checks and attaches proper paperwork before submitting to tug/fleet.
- Checks paperwork required for submission to Tug Master.
- Ensures safe-to-use certificates of goods are sent to the vessel.
- Returns incorrect or over-supplied items, ensuring they are correctly packed, marked, and accompanied by relevant documentation.
- Transfers obsolete stock items to the obsolete store upon approval from the MRP Controller, ensuring they are correctly packed, marked, and accompanied by relevant documentation.
- Completes ‘goods return to vendor’ documentation, ensuring items are packed and marked.
- Receives repair items from the fleet with correct documentation and sends them to the vendor with relevant paperwork.
- Performs stock counts in accordance with procedures and plans determined by the Assistant Material Controller.
- Maintains filing for all documentation, per suppliers and vessels.
- Updates each tug run as distributed to all vessels or management of Debmarine Namibia.
- Makes bookings for forklift and crane usage in advance as required.
- Receives waste from vessels with completed paperwork, weighs and subdivides hazardous waste, and maintains record-keeping for the relevant division.
- Weighs scrap metals, reconciles readings, and liaises all information to the necessary division.
Qualifications
CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12
- A certificate in storemanship/stock control will be an added advantage.
- 3 Years’ relevant experience.
THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES ARE KEY FOR THIS POSITION:
- Computer applications – MS Office
- Knowledge of SAP
- Administrative skills
- Liaison and interpersonal skills
