POSITION: TRADE HAND (ELECTRICAL MILLWRIGHT) X5
DEPARTMENT: PORT OPERATIONS
SECTIONS: MOBILE CRANE WORKSHOP (X2), MECHANICAL WORKSHOP (X3)
LOCATION: PORT OF WALVIS BAY
JOB GRADE: 14

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To execute minor electrical maintenance as well as to assist the artisans with the execution of their duties.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Performs minor maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Assist with repairing of bogeys, beams, equipment and lifting tackles.
• Performs general electrical maintenance of mobile cranes, reach stackers and other mechanical lifting equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and overhauling of small electrical appliances in the workshop.
• Strips and assembles all medium voltage motors.
• Adheres to safety, health, and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• National Vocational Certificate Level 2 or equivalent [NQF Level 2].
• 2 years relevant experience, of which a minimum 1 years should have been within port & maritime environment.
• Code BE driver’s license.
• Must be driven and possesses a strong technical know-how.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to details and deadlines.
• Relationship building, logically thinking and computer literacy.
• Must be a Namibian Citizen.
