1. Main Function of the Role
The primary responsibility of the Trainee Branch Manager is to oversee and manage all operational functions within the branch, ensuring that sales, marketing, administration, and industrial relations are effectively handled. The role aims to uphold the mission of customer satisfaction through service excellence while driving the branch’s growth and profitability.
2. Key Performance Areas
- Operational Management
- Manage all branch operations, including sales, marketing, administration, and industrial relations.
- Ensure stock levels, shrinkage, and expenses are maintained to acceptable standards.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the branch’s market share.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Train and develop staff to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Act as a mentor to staff, motivating and guiding them to reach their full potential.
- Customer Satisfaction
- Uphold the company’s mission of customer satisfaction through service excellence.
- Policy Implementation
- Implement, monitor, and maintain company policies and procedures across all operational activities.
3. Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Education Requirements:
- Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with at least 22 marks.
- Preferred Education:
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree (NQF Level 7) is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience in the building, retail, or FMCG industry.
- Other Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Code B Driver’s License.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
