Introduction
The Mining Assistant is responsible for assisting the mining teams in carrying out manual/general work.
Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out housekeeping work as per request by the supervisor.
- Clean mining equipment.
- Clean road signs.
- Assist with road sign placements.
- Assist with road demarcations.
- Assist with dewatering pumps movement within the mining area.
- Carry out machine spotting whenever requested to do so.
- Direct traffic in safety-critical areas.
- Assist with handling furniture during office moves.
Safety, Health and Environment
- Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with the Namibian Mining Act (Ordinance, Minerals Act, and Explosives Act) and Regulations ( Labour Act) clauses that apply to your work area.
- Maintain a safe working environment and keep the assigned work area clean and tidy.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum Grade 10
- NQF 3
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Mining environment
- Physically fit to carry out physical work.
- Valid Code B driver’s License is an advantage.
- Women and persons from marginalised communities are encouraged to apply.
