AML Analyst – BANK BIC NAMIBIA LIMITED

Job purpose::

To detect, investigate, and report suspicious activity relating to financial crimes and violations by reviewing client and transactional data and monitoring screening systems and financial instructions to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor financial transactions to identify unusual patterns, money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), proliferation financing (PF), and/or potential non-compliance with regulations.
  • Investigate potentially suspicious activities/transactions and obtain sufficient documentary evidence for reporting purposes.
  • Timely execution of instructions from the AML Compliance Officer, competent and/or regulatory authorities.
  • Submit and/or extract reports on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Remain updated regarding AML/CTF/CPF regulations and international best practice standards.
  • Assist with money laundering-related queries/questionnaires from Correspondent Banks.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to escalate high-risk cases and support AML investigations.
  • Assist during audits with documented proof, compliance narratives, and operational insights.
  • Conduct risk assessments.

Key Requirements::

  • Namibian citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF/CPF regulations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in financial services data analysis.
  • Computer literate.
