PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:       

To operate all Utility related equipment at all times at the specified optimal efficiency and perform any other work that may occur related to Utility operations and its entire process. The Controller: Process Utilities is required to master all Equipment related to Boilers, Primary Water treatment, Ammonia refrigeration, Sterile air, and CO2 recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

• N3 Trade Diploma with 5 years experience in a Food Processing Industry or similar environment and a good Basic Technical background.
• At least 3 years experience in at least 2 of the following: Basic Water Treatment, Boiler Operations (HFO/Biomass), Ammonia Plant operations, CO2 recovery plant, Sterile air compressors along with up/downstream equipment
• Computer literate in MS Office
• Sufficient Knowledge of operating plants on Brewmaxx
• SAP Knowledge (Reservations, Stock Quantity)
• General awareness of ISO 9002 procedures and HACCP guidelines

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY

• Operate the applicable Utility related equipment according to the operating job instructions.
• Perform online quality controls and complete the required documentation, including water & CO2 quality samples.
• Troubleshoot equipment and solve minor stoppages and provide reliable feedback.
• Maintain machines in the area of responsibility.
• Decant chemicals, HFO, and CO2 safely, using all relevant PPE and following safe work procedures.
• perform administration duties by updating/recording CO2, boiler house, water plant, month-end log sheet etc. and ensure that log sheets are accurately completed and up to date.
• Administer the logistics of the allocated work area (consumables, chemicals, HFO (woodchips) etc.)
• Perform housekeeping in the area of work.
